Greetings with a Zoa question.

Hello everyone! First of all thanks for the great information. I have a 4 month old 45 gallon shallow reef tank with a 20 gallon sump refugium. I have recently added 4 blue leg hermits and a small colony of zoanthids. I did a temperature acclimation for the Zoas ( about 20 minutes) then added them to the tank. They haven’t opened yet and it’s been two weeks. My parameters as of this morning are as follows:
Temp: 79
Ph: 8.0 -8.2
Ammonia, nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 10-20ppm
I’ve read countless threads on this issue but just haven’t found anything that helps. I do weekly water changes and use reef crystals. Could it be that I don’t have any fish? I’ve read that Zoas like “dirtier” water.

Zoos are one of the hardiest and fast spreading corals.
What's the light....maybe too strong and they are hiding...
Nitrate is a bit high....zero better goal....two weeks is a little long for opening but not out of possibilities.
What about phosphate...is that zero?

Btw....dirty water is just dirt in water....
While some corals may tolerate it.....none "like" it.
Keep all parameters at NSW levels

I have my tank with zoas from last 3 months, most if them opened within an hour after them were introduced,a few took 3-4 days. 2 week IMO is too long.
