Sick or Dying?

My Xenia looks super droopy and "sad." She is turning a grayish color from her usual purplish hue.
Any ideas on her status?

It's really impossible to tell you anything serious, other than refer you to articles on the web. You really need to provide some information for us to go on.

How large is the system?
How long have you had it set up?
How long have you had the xenia?
What recent changes did you make?
Did you add any new livestock?
What livestock do you have in the system?
What are your water parameters? (exact readings please)
What lighting do you have?
What, if any, additives or medications have you used?

I see that you recently joined, so if this is a new tank, check your parameters and correct them. Make sure you have nutrients in the water. They feed off of their zooxanthellae and microplankton. I use several different coral foods and rotate them. Make sure there is some decent current. Most Xenia need moderate to high current flow.

Hope this helps.

My experience is when they start to die, they do. Do you have a picture?

This thread was originally posted back in Oct 2015. By now the Xenia has either fullr recovered or "gone to the great aquarium in the sky".
