+3 Beautiful !
I was home Saturday evening for 5 mins and had to check the tank and him and after only two days, he's cruising around like he owns the place :D One happy little fish! I added some food and he didn't seem interested in it (way too big for him lol) but he didn't run off scared from it or the sudden activity of everyone else! I'll be adding some lobster eggs + rotifers today to see what happens :)

What happen with the feeding?

Seemed curious about all the floaty bits lol but went about picking at the rocks though. I think it'll take a few feedings before he tries any prepared foods :) he did take notice of it though and the fish activity and once again wasn't phased by all the activity either :)

Well the tank has seen better days, living away from the tank and life getting the better of me has meant the tank has not received nearly enough care and love than it should have. I've only seen it once in the last two weeks and even then haven't been able to do any work on it. Things are a little sad and the algae is going nuts which is getting me really down because the shit seems to be unstoppable and I'm not adding a foxface to combat it as, well, I don't really like them and too large/boisterous for the tank too, especially with some of my smaller fish. It's been pretty bad of late however I managed to get home yesterday to do some work on the tank thanks to a good shove from my partner, well and truly supportive of my tank. That and I was motivated enough and not distracted by life's issues that I was able to get a decent amount of work done which helps but there's still a long way to go.
- Cleaned the skimmer cup and adjusted it to skim a little heavier.
- Removed a good amount of algae and siphoned a lot more out.
- Fresh carbon (few weeks over due).
- Removed my zoa rack and dipped all the zoa's in hydrogen peroxide and tidied that all up and removed as much algae as possible.
- Cleaned the glass (it's going to need a lot more work, coralline is starting to form like freckles all over!)
- Fed the fish some frozen, made sure everyone was healthy and eating. Tiny copperband definitely seems more interested in the food and the frenzy that comes with it but still not picking or eating it. He's also not shy at all, had my hand in the tank and he was swimming around it which is nice unlike the other scaredy cats!
- Siphoned out the little bit of cyano that was starting to form too.

This is what I came home too :( you can really see what I mean about the damned c. nummularia!

And after a couple of hours of work, we got somewhere but there's a long way to go still:

Life is a bit doom and gloom at the moment (was at the emergency vet at 4am on Monday morning with our little cat, who's currently at the specialist clinic getting scans and tests done for his liver) and that's just one thing lol but the tank always reminds me that there is a brighter side to life and that things can always prevail :) some of my coral-ly friends reminded me of that while I was there, it also seems that while some of the acro's are suffering a little there are still those going strong and they're two of my many favourites, the firetruck and the fireworks (I think I might be a pyro lol)

And of course my zoa's can always make a reefer happy lol:

Hopefully things will you look better for you, and little Roger will start eating and prayers sent out for your little kitty! Good luck with it all!
Thanks mate :) I really appreciate the kind words and thoughts :) Iggy said thanks too

You have some very nice zoa's. Great colors. I need to work on that for my tank.
Thanks Rien :) I've been collecting them for a while and have always got my eyes out for more awesome zoa's! :)

He's back home at least :) Waiting to hear back from the specialist this afternoon, not that he's stressed or anything

Yep :) I'll find the balance again, soon hopefully and things can go back to being normalish lol

Great news about Iggy!! :) Hopefully whatever is ailing him is gone soon!! Our pets are just like having more kids! We love to eternity!
I couldn't agree more, the little bugger is doted upon haha he seems to be more cheerful after 3 days of antibiotics but that could just be us seeing what we want lol I certainly hope they're doing the trick :)

+1 ^ Great news about Iggy!!
Thanks Glenn :)

Great news Dom and you seem to have a cat that thinks it is a parrot.....
It is :) And he is the silliest little cat in the world, every vet we've been too, they've all loved him. He even stole someone else's food when he had to stay over night at the specialist haha the nurse wasn't prepared for his love of chicken :p

I congratulate you cobber. Things are looking stellar and it appears all is right in your neck of the woods. Cheers buddy :clink:
