New Red Sea Max 250 - Questions

Hello,

I am new to this forum and the saltwater hobby. I recently purchased a 2 year old RSM 250 that is in great condition. I've completed the assembly process and have two questions.

The larger pump on the left hand side has a fairly large crack on the impeller magnet. The pump works but is kind of noisy. Is it best to replace the impeller or purchase an upgraded pump?

Also, the skimmer is quite noisy. I have read this is common, but is there a fix or recommendations on an upgrade?

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to learning and participating on this forum!

Thanks

I say this as iv herd a few stories of faulty impellor of rsm 250. They can cause a tank crash or leak metals into your tank. A guy called tok on here had the same thing happen and if youv seen how good his tank was you wud be devastated. Let me know how you get on and what sort of prices youv found.

Don't think Dario (tok) problem was this... kev with Red Sea confirmed

iron just gfo - generic ferric oxide

I would replace the impeller but not worry about it... imo
