Hello everyone, I've been a member here for awhile but have never posted. I've had my RSM up and running since 2012. It's been a lot of fun and I have had my ups and downs but the tank is doing well. I thought I would share some photos with my fellow reefers and RSM owners.
Some tank specs:
Live stock:
1 flame hawk
2 clown fish

Equipment:
2x vortec mp10
Radion gen 3
2x mj 1200
Tunze 9002 skimmer
BRS GFO/Carbon reactor
Tunze osmolator
Eheim heater
Bubble magus doser (brs 2 part)
InTank filter cover

SPS dominated with a couple z&p, mini maxi and rock anemones
Photos are with my phone so I'll have to update using my camera.

What a beautiful tank!
Do you get the vortech because of issues with the return? Or were you just needing more flow for the sps? I'm not happy with my flow and I'm considering getting one, but I primarily have softies and LPS and I don't want to blast them out of the water.

I got them for two reasons. First, I wasn't getting the strong random flow I needed for an SPS tank. Second, with the flow coming only from the top left corner I was left with many dead spots in the tank. You could definitely get away with using one, I use two for a few reasons, add the randomness of flow, much quieter running them at 60% then one at 100% and also prolongs the life of the pump.

What's everyone using for skimmers in these tanks nowadays? I'm on my 3rd tunze 9002 in 4 years and I have to admit I have never been impressed with their performance

I have a tunze 9001. . Not as good as a reef octopus HOB on my 40 breeder, but working. Silent.
I'm not sure there are many options without a sump. I think its probably the best option for the sump compartment.

That's a LOT of light and it looks great!

Thats a really great looking tank. Looks very healthy.
I just fitted a sump on my tank and am using a 9004 Tunze now. I was using a 9001 and seemed to pull allot of gunk out. Loving the lighting unit. I went with XR 15 W PRO on my tank with radion mount.
Great tank thanks for sharing :)

Thanks guys, it is a lot of light but I hated the shadowing from leds and the t5s took care of that. I'll have to update some pictures. Corals are starting to take off.

When I first switched to radion (same time I started this thread) I bleached the hell out of my coral. At same point my doser crapped out a dumped a ton of alk in the tank. Just now about 5 months later things are turning around for the better. I moved some stuff around and added a few pounds of dry rock recently. I swapped out my hawkish for a mystery wrasse a few months ago. I loved the hawk but he was a serious bully.
My "frag" tank is finally doing better so I'm happy about that.

Very good looking corals :) I must say i love the Radion. I really like what you have done with T5 also has me thinking :) Mind you i really like the sleek look of the radion mount and my corals seem to be doing well.
