Will the Deltec Mc500 fit in the MaxC250?

Hi Nautchilous
I run a Deltec MC500 in my RSM250 and it works great, it has 1 or 2 little niggles though.
1. you will need to invest in an ATO, I have run it with and without and am getting much better results with.
2. the collection cup could and should be bigger.

That said, it is in my opinion better and quieter than the stock skimmer.

if you need anymore info please drop me a line, we are here to help.

cheers

I'm using the Deltec its not that much better than the stock skimmer. once you get a ATO I think it worked about the same

I have a Deltec MC500 in my RSM 250 it fits right into the same spot with minor modification. It works very well once it's dialed in, the only thing is I wish it had a larger collection cup but that's my only complaint which isn't a major deal breaker IMO. And a good ATO is a must have I run a Tunze 3155.

I can confirm that the Deltec MC500 fits without any modifications to the Red Sea Max C250.

The transparent side is facing the tank (dark side to the back of the tank), bracket on the left side.

It requires ATO to keep the level constant in the skimmer's chamber.

I also can confirm that the MCE600 cup is identical to MC500 except the overflow elbow that prevents the cup filling and overflowing.

The bracket is set at the second notch on the left side.

The water level is at the tenth notch on the right lateral side.

The cup is inserted to the upper edge of the overflow comb.

This gives me a cup filled close to the upper edge with dark brown horrible smelling skimmate after three days.
